This Side of the World

Dear Friends,   Below you will find a letter sent to us from Accra, Ghana. Please pray for this young man and ALL the others who are facing this same persecution.............   Names have been changed for Believers protection....   Dear Friends,        I come to you now seeking your heartfelt and earnest prayers for our brother in Christ Wayne.  He went home to share his new faith with family and friends, he wanted them to know the peace he has found, he wanted to share the Love and joy he has found in Jesus.         While at home with his family, his wife took his little son and left him saying she would not be married to a Christian and could never love a man who was a Christian  His Uncle who is the family leader told him that because he was now a Christian he should leave the family home and not return.  He was scolded several times by people in the village for sharing his faith.  Upon return here, he was told by the owner of the little provision shop building, that he was unwelcome to do his business there, so he is without a job at the present time.         So Wayne has lost his wife, family, many friends and now his business for his faith.  Please lift him up before God in prayer.  Pray for his family to see God's love in him and be drawn back to him, pray for his courage, his strength and that God's wisdom and love will continue to well up inside him.  and that God's wisdom and love will continue to well up inside him.         There are silver linings in this.  He is holding strong at this time, he has suffered much but he continues to hold to his hearts belief in Jesus.  He is a witness to the others around him who are seeking God's love.  Many of the young guys are coming to him in secret to befriend him and support him.  Many are watching and waiting to see how this works out as they consider the eternal decision to either follow God or not.  Please pray that they will realize the promises of God in their lives and that through Wayne's Paul like experiences, many will find boldness and choose Christ.  Yesterday Wayne came to my house to talk to Moses and me, while he was here two young guys came by to visit and Wayne within a few minutes of them showing up had the Jesus video on and had them watching it.        Please pray for Wayne.  Pray for his family and friends. Pray that God will touch their hearts and that they will be reconciled  and that through this they too will see the wonderful Love of Christ.        Pray that through Wayne's experiences many of the younger guys will draw inspiration and strength to openly accept and live for Christ.        Pray that Wayne and Michael will be drawn together in a Godly friendship and will support each other, grow with each other and minister together to the ones around them.        Pray for Moses as he ministers and guides them both through this rocky and unsettling time that he too has gone through and endured for the sake of Christ.       Pray for me as I try to help them as they seek God's will.  Pray that I will allow God to use me to help guide and direct them in God's word to a peace that passes all understanding.      Thank you and God bless you.       Gomer
